The weather is getting right!!!! Who's gonna be there? Gonna be 4 long field courses and a classifier. If you've never shot a USPSA style course, this will be a great one to start on. Just bring a holster, extra mags and plenty of bullets. You will probably need about 140-200 rounds. This is the perfect shooting weather. Come on out and give it a try!!!! See ya' there.

The weather looks like it is going to be awesome, 0% chance of rain and a high around 74 degrees predicted at the moment. This is my favorite time of the year to shoot and this should be a really good match.

Unfortunately though, I will have to sit this one out. I broke a finger a few weeks ago and am in a splint. Supposed to start rehabing this week, so hopefully I will be back competing in a few weeks.

Hope the turnout is good and the match goes well. If anyone is on the fence, I'd say this would be a good one to make.

Strong hand little finger. It happened practicing with a local high school basketball team. Just a freak deal. I don't think I have broken that many bones in my life (total of two fingers, cracked wrist, and maybe nose) considering some of my hobbies/interests and stupid things I have done, but ironically all of them have happened playing basketball. Granted all of the others were 17 years ago or more, but I am having to seriously consider giving it up for good. Sucks.

Ha, I have considered it. I hate to miss the match!

I don't think reloading with the splint would be particularly fun. It's not a simple splint just on the little finger, but a large velcro job that runs up from the wrist and "buddies" the little finger to the ring finger with a strap around the palm. For that matter, typing is not much fun either! I hope to only miss a few more weeks though. We'll see how the rehab goes.

I broke my weak hand-middle finger and ring finger at the tail end of 2008 catching a football.

Finger spilts are a pain...I still shot, but kept them on when I wasn't up on a stage.

Get well soon.
I didn't remember that. Were your breaks up/into a joint? If so, how much movement did you lose in the fingers? Are they still stiff? Any pain bending? Mine isn't really going as well as we hoped and is up into the middle joint of the finger. I'll see what PT says later this week, but I don't think I could put my weak hand on top of it in my grip right now even if I got the go-ahead.

On my weakhand ring finger I had a "mallet" fracture which is in the last joint when I was 15. I had surgery in Jackson and it was repaired with two pins, but I have limited ROM in that joint to this day. It changed the way I play guitar, but really hasn't affected me that much in the grand scheme of things over the past nearly 20 years. I am hoping it will be as good or better with this one. The Ortho says this is about as bad of finger fracture as one can have, but that it is "only the little finger". To heck with that, I need all of them!
