Hello!

This is the "last chance" on duty, Heckler & Koch P7 (often called PSP in the civilian version), caliber 9x19, 8 + 1 rounds, factory ammo 9 mm Hollow Point (military contract). In Germany we use Walther, Sig-Sauer or Heckler&Koch handguns for police work, and bavaria use since 1985/1986 the P7. Since several years they told us we will have a new handgun in future, the Heckler & Koch 2000 (or HSP in the military version), but still we have no money.

I like shooting the .45 ACP round, had a Ballester years ago in .45. But german police is in a history of military so we use Heckler&Koch submachineguns MP5 on duty, too, and the 9mm round. When I start in 1983 as an police officer we had during the academy time the P1 in 9 mm, and our group leaders carry a 7,65 mm - like the time up to 1945, officer with 7,65 mm, soldier with 9 mm.

Hallo Uwe,
How many rounds do you have to fire annually with your pistol to retain qualification in your police force? Have you had that same P7 since 85? Are you permitted to take it home with you?
Also I think it would be very interesting for those on the list if you explained what type of 9x19 you are issued for the P7 and MPi5.
Beste Grüße,
Phillip

Will use the picture of the .45 P7 to show off the difference the police model of the P7 has. Our "Beschaffungsamt" want`s a modern and quick handgun for police, but after the tests they want a different magazine holder, not only at the bottom of the grip, no, you must first push the holder iback and then push it inside. The idea of a quick magazine change dies with this "solution".
