This is a picture of the beginnings for my 6mm ODIN cartridge. It is a 6.5x47 Lapua necked down to 6mm, blown forward with a 40 degree shoulder. The Krieger should ship this week to my Smith. With that being said I should have it by Dec… The picture shows a comparison between the 6.5x47L, 6mm ODIN (only necked down and nk turned) and my 6mm Dasher.

Look at the charts below at the drop and drift w/ a comparison of the 6.5x47L and the 6mm ODIN. The 6mm has a drift and drop advantage plus less felt recoil. Just ask Alton Bit what he thinks about the 6x47L.

Where can I go look at these in different format? As this one makes it really hard to decipher it. I really like what I've been reading on the 6.5x47L + I can shoot a heavier bullet for hunting.

Limic,
Yes it is a 6x47L Imp... I have not fire formed a case as of yet. My barrel was just shipped on the 28th. The capacity should be 2.0 - 3.5 grains of H2O larger than the 6x47L case. It will have the same pwder convergance numbers as the 6mm Dasher, as the shoulder angle and neck length are the same. Should hit around 3200 -3300 fps with a 105-108 class bullet using around 42 gr. of REL17. I ordered a 1 in 8.5" twist to sqeeze a couple more fps with less pressure. Body taper is around .007" per inch and the neck dia. is .267 at the NK/shoulder junction and .266" at the case mouth.

Yes it should get at least 2000 rounds. 115's may be a little much. I'll just have to see. Comparing BC’s of the 105 -108 class bullets to the 115’s, with the velocity the 105 -108s can be pushed, they will hold the advantage over the 115’s.
I came up with the name ODIN. Odin is the Norse God of War! Odin has a Spear called the Gungnir. In Norse mythology, Gungnir (Old Norse "swaying one") is Odin's magical spear; it always hits its mark and always kills. That 105-108 Class bullet will be my Gungnir
I also have a Big .30 Caliber in the works with the same body taper, shoulder angle and neck taper, off of the RWS 8x68s case that will be the .30 ODIN

Yes Dave made my reamer and Go-Gauge. Neil Jones is making my sizing die. Leonard Baity is my Smith and he is not overly quick. Baity is making me a bolt for the 700 Action and bedding the action into a Shehane MBR Tracker stock and a McMillan A-3. Hopefully it will be finished by Nov... Email me at graham2 at hotmail.com and I'll shoot you a copy of the print.

Well I’ve got the cases Necked down and formed. I’ve still got a lot of work to do on them plus work up a load.
3 6mm ODIN Dummy Rounds compared to the 6.5x47 Lapua case.

SS Rem 700 w/ Baity’s bolt with a coned nose.
31” Krieger 8.5” twist, .236” Bore. 1.25” Straight for 7” tapered to 1.005” at 31”.
I’ve still got to add some lead to the butt. She weights 16.5 Lbs. as pictured.

Good lookin stuff. Put me down as being surprised if you get 2k rounds outta the tube :) why such a tight neck? Also I've got a dozen or so lbs of #9 shot and a bunch of .177 BB's. Let me know if you need some and I'll bring it down to bouge chitto. Putting the lead in my stock was a pure goat ropping

Limbic,
I wish I’d have known you had the 9 shot before I bought a $52.00 Bag at Bass Pro! I don’t know what the barrel life will be! It has the same Powder Convergence numbers as the Dasher. I have heard that some folk get 3,000 rounds out of the Dasher. It is basically just a Dasher with more Horsepower. It is about 3/8” longer than the Dasher. We will see. I have yet to fire a live round yet so the muzzle velocity is still unknown. I should know tomorrow afternoon.

Limbic,
The Neck Diameter is the same as my Dasher Reamer. That way I can use the same Turning tool and not have to readjust it. The Body Taper and Neck Taper are the same as my .300 ATLAS Reamer and the Neck Length and Diameter are the same as my Dasher Reamer.
