Yesterday night I decided I want to buy a M1 Garand. Instead of mail ordering, this morning I drove to Anniston, AL and bought one! :smile: I got a Service Grade Springfield Special. I can not wait to shoot it!!!

I paid that much for it but I also paid the state tax for AL which was 9%. :yell: I did not want to ship it since I want to play with it over the weekend. :smile: Captain as for the M1 Carbines, most of the wood looked beat up. I think the only one they have there was rack grade.

I got one from SOG for 495 and that was grade II but they were nice. I had a small little crack in my stock but other than that they were great had a little surface rust but it wiped right off when i got the oil. I would post pics but dont know how to do it off the Iphone.

Bonedust, did you get yours recently? I saw them on SOG site the other day, but seem to remember seeing several comments recently (here maybe?) about serious quality issues. But I haven't yet researched it so may be just my "old-timer" disease kicking in. Glad you got a good one.
