Looks good. I changed all my gear over from woodland to multicam and soon I am going to paint my rifles to match.

Painted rifles are working rifles. If they are going to traded and put on the wall to reminisce over - I guess they don't need paint.

Here is some info I found on the net regarding locally available krylon colors to match the multicam colors.

This guy did a swell job on his.

I put my opinion as to their suitability at the end. These are krylon flat or satin numbers.

-Brown #8142 Good

-Khaki #8141 Good

-Medium Brown (Coyote) #8147 need to find a better shade here

-Sand Dune #8148 ?? don't know

-Satin Hunter Green #2424 Good

Nice job. I have no experience with the 16 inch in 308. What is the recoil like? What about muzzle blast? A serious question here, in reality, just how much handier is the Socom 16 inch than a standard M-1A? Is the handiness worth the reduced velocity, increased muzzle blast etc.??? I have been thinking about getting a Socom 1. Or maybe taking a couple inches off the barrels of one on my M1-A standards. Opinions please.

I can't speak for him, but have been jones'n after an M1A for a while now. I have the thought of suppressing it eventually, and one downside to the SOCOM is the muzzle break is proprietary to help tame recoil. Meaning when you take it off... This is all heresay according to the web so worth what you paid for it. I'm hoping to stumble across one of the 'Scout' length rifles.
