I stumbled across a great web site for handgun information:

Click on the links on the left for some neat stuff.

Check the "Basics" that shows how Glock and revolver and other models work.

Check the "Manufacturers" link. I was able to find a link to the current German manufacturer of an old revolver I have that is no longer imported.

Also check the "Handgun reviews" link.
