I never had a a problem with one, but reading around 1911 forum, they don't seem to be that good. For inexpensive mags I like Mec-Gar

Last Rock I bought was a 9mm 1911 and it had Mec Gar mags

I got this one used. I am not sure if it is original to the gun.
I have some Metal Form 1911 mags, I have never had a problem with any of them, they have always fed good with no problems.

The only McCormick magazine I have has a Tripp spring and follower in it As do my other magazines. I also like Wilson. i think the original Colt design is best.

+1 on wilson mags. I have dozens and have had 0 issues.

I only have a few metalform mags, not much time on them but they seem to work ok.
