Need help on a good comp pistol

Not sure where to start but i wanted a new or used pistol that I can use for competiton style shooting.I dont mind buying one and then customizing, i just need to know a good platform to start with.Thanks

It really depends on what sort of matches you end up shooting in. As far as a .45 goes, SIG makes a version of the P220 called the P220 Sport but you would want to buy it with the mods already made. I know where one is but it's not for sale :lol: and gunbroker/etc will have one occasionally. And there are some great wheel guns in .45 as well. I love the S&W Model 625. Good luck with the search!

GO to a match. See what disipline you want to shoot.. then talk to an expert in that discipline. I have shot many displines, but the first one was NRA action pistol. I figured I would gear up before I started. THat was a big mistake. I ended up having to sell a high dollar gun for cheap just to get what I needed,].
