I have a friend who wants to sell 1000 rounds of 223 ammunition to pay some bills. He has PMC bronze 55 grain full metal jacket in 20 round boxes. Not wanting to gouge with this ammo, what is a decent price to ask in today’s market? I don’t own a 223 other than a bolt action. So I have no need for it but I am willing to help him move it to someone who may have a platform that this would be better suited for.

Any and all input is useful.
Thanks
Jeff.

On Ammoseek 1000 cases are .47 to .90 a round. Academy has it listed for .69 a round for 20rds.

🤷‍♂️

I'll buy it for .20/rd.
Just kidding.
A quick search revealed prices anywhere from 9.99 to 15 a box. That's online though so you'd have to figure shipping.

Typically 55gr stuff goes for 0.65 a round these days and 62gr stuff for about 0.70 a round. Most people think that's too high and I'll be the first to say for .223/5.56 I think it is. So, if they want a quick sale, maybe cut it down 0.10 less than cheapest retail.

Bass Pro in Jackson had bulk 55 grain FMJ for .60 cents/round yesterday. Best price I've seen in a while.

50 cpr to sell it quick. He could probably get 55-60 or even 65 cpr for it though if he didn't mind waiting to get the right price for it.
