Got a M700 VTR in .308, looking to replace the el-cheapo Remington stock.

Any suggestions as to what I'd look for? Accuracy and durability are the key qualities I'm wanting, looks don't matter.

Budget is tight, need to keep under $300.

All input is welcomed.

i dropped my vtr barreled action off in a hs precision varmit barrel type stock, and it worked like a charm......

B&C A5 medalist. It's over your price range but worth it. I just put one on my remmy. All I can say is wow what an improvement. It's gonna run ya around $450 though.

This one is for a Savage. Midway doesn't seem to have one for a short action 700

This stock is really nice. They're heavy but not so heavy that you can't carry it hunting. I covered several miles on more than one occasion with mine last deer season. It also makes my 700 VTR capable of shooting three holes touching at 100 yards. You can't beat it for the price.

here is the stock I put on mine shot it today and seems to work real nice... it is by Choate and got it at the gun show cheaper than Midwayusa if you can believe that..
