I just picked up my second 1911 today, a Series I Kimber Ultra Carry:

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments! This is my first RAT and I really like it, got it as a present for Christmas and need a good camping trip to really break it in right.JMS39339 said:Nice!!! I like your drawer. How do you like that RAT? I love mine.
BTW...![]()
That's a nice Christmas present. Knives can be as much an addiction as guns. But at least folks will always have something to buy you. :lol:Eaglestroker said:Thanks for the welcome and the compliments! That's the truth, anything of this nature is addictive! I'm currently putting a day pack together for hiking and am having to resist buying more knives so I can leave the thing loaded. I really need to add a tactical flashlight to that drawers...JMS39339 said:That's a nice Christmas present. Knives can be as much an addiction as guns. I have held the para (Warthog I think?) and I think it is a fraction smaller. I have an IWB holster and it tucks so much nicer than my full size, just need to run a few hundred rounds through it before I put it into cycle.sidroski said:Son came home on leave and showed me his para single stack. Said it was the smallest .45 1911 out there when he bought it but I'd like to see them side by side. Be a close call. That's a nice one.
BTW
Welcome
Have you looked at the Surefire e2d Defender? I picked up one and can't imagine being without it now. It may not be what you're looking for but I can highly recommend it. And hiking... There's another addiction. I have a whole room devoted to packs, tents, sleeping bags... and the list goes on and on. BTW, don't get into kayaking if you haven't already. :lol:Eaglestroker said:That's the truth, anything of this nature is addictive! I haven't but I will. I don't mind paying upfront for something that's going to last a while! I'm hoping I don't get it that bad, not new to camping but the lightweight aspect I am. Usually I load up the Willy's and hit the trail! I'm putting together a decently inexpensive pack off of cheaper than dirt for around $150 with a bunch of goodies to stuff in it.JMS39339 said:Have you looked at the Surefire e2d Defender? :sheep: Poor fellow... You don't even realize that you're delusional already. There IS NO HOPE! :sheepaid: You're off to a good start. You should look at REI if you haven't already and join as a member. You get really good rewards back from them at the end of the year on your purchases and they have some good sales and a nice clearance section. Each year, members get a special 25% discount that can make buying higher dollar items a lot more palatable. I can spend hours in their stores but there aren't any close to here. I always make a point when I'm travelling near one to detour to it. I've also had really good luck with Sierra Trading Post.Eaglestroker said:I haven't but I will. Kayaking came with the fly rod a few years ago....![]()
A guy can dream can't he? As a first pack that will more than likely end up being a range/farm pack for me in the long run should I get into it further, is this worthwhile?JMS39339 said::sheep: Poor fellow...
