Back in December when I got the Vaquero for my 50th birthday, I logged it on Ruger's website. When you log a gun on their site, they send you a coupon for 20% of one purchase at ShopRuger.com

They ran a "Free Shipping" sale during the week between Christmas and New Years, so among a few other things, I ordered a set of compact Altamont grips for my 3-inch GP100. My GP came with both a set of full-sized Altamonts, and also a Ruger-branded Hogue Monogrip, but I'd been wanting a set of the compacts since reading reviews on RugerForum dot net. They were out-of-stock and on backorder when I ordered them, so I didn't know how long it would take. They finally arrived today.

I have had a 3 inch gp 100 for about 5 years now. Has been my winter carry all that time. I have kept the Hogue grips on it the entire time until recently. I too ordered a set of Altamonts compact for mine because it is hard to conceal the Hogue for me. I only wish I had not waited so long to order the Altamonts. This is like getting a brand new gun to me! Totally changes everything about it. It went from looking way oversized to carry to a more compact revolver. Crazy to me how a set of grips can change a gun so much. I plan to carry it more often now.

Like the grip you bought a whole lot better than the standard long grip that came on it.
