Just moved to Brandon Mississippi 2 years ago. Lived in East Tennessee for 67 year. Have had guns my entire life. Joined to see if I could find a place to shoot.

Welcome @Rodman from far eastern Scott County, your neighbor to the east. If you'd let me know 2 years ago, we could have swapped places, mine for yours in East TN. Wife and I have talked of retiring there, just not around Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge due to tourist

welcome ! I have to agree with trashy would much rather be in those smilies than here any day.
There are several places to shoot around the metro area.
I’m a member of boondocks out close to Raymond because I dang near live onsite.
There’s another in Byram ,Magonlia rifle & pistol club ,was a member there at one time too,there’s a bunch of this forum’s members there. I Like them both .
I also think there’s a few indoor ranges. The Range in Madison, never been there so I don’t know anything about it
2 gun tactical in Pearl is another one, haven’t shot there either
There’s a public range ( Tup on the north side of the reservoir, don’t know much about it either.

Welcome back, Turcotte shooting Range is the public Range that RC was referring to. It’s located in Madison county on Hwy 43 a stones throw from the reservoir. It is run by the State Wildlife Department and believe it is $15 per day to shoot. Check their web-site for range closures before trekking over (they host events from time to time and observe state holidays) but pistol range may be open event if they’re hosting an event.

Is precision shooting in Forest still open? That would be a 30min ride on I20 from Brandon vs ~ 20 min to magnolia range.
