Picked it up today and there were a few things I didnt like about it. To answer the question above about AR type functionality it doesnt function at all like an AR. In fact one thing I didnt like about it is that is an AR-15 style "Shell". Moving parts that you would find on the AR like the charging handle are molded in. The front sight is not adjustable and the front sight post and mount are made of plastic, the rear sight is also plastic but adjustable for windage and elevation . The bolt and barrel are the same as on the Mossberg 702. You charge the bolt at the ejection port. I do like the 6 position stock and all the rails. Unlike the S&W MP-22 which has a full size magazine with a 22 insert, on these its just a 22 magazine. So when they start making higher capacity mags they will stick out in disproportion to the rest of the weapon, which I have seen on other 22's so I guess thats not too bad. The mag release is two levers on either side of the gun. I like the carry handle (A2 style), there is a weaver rail mounted on top of the carry handle so you can use the sights or mount a scope or red dot up top and utilize both. I plan on putting on a cheap red dot. Total with transfer fee I paid 263 dollars. All in all I think it was worth it so far, but I still have to take it to the range.
