I’m heading to New Orleans tomorrow to visit the WW2 museum. I know with my permit is valid in Louisiana, but I did not know if any of yall knew about any issues, rules, laws within New Orleans itself that would bring up any issues? Thanks.

Be careful if you are around any bars. I'm pretty sure that's a no no in the big easy.
Yeah, I think it’s almost like MS law where you are not allowed to carry in any establishment where its primary purpose is the sale of alcohol and you cannot sit at a bar in a restaurant or drink at all really. It’s my birthday and my plans are to go to the National WW2 Museum then the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for lunch and then right down from there is Café du Monde for some beignets (hope I spelled that correctly). No plans for drinking or anything like that.

The best po-boy is at Johnny's on St Louis Street close to the cathedral.
Be sure to get the Chickory Coffee.

Now, back to the topic. I've seen people open-carrying on Canal street, not sure if they were LEO or unicorns. Being out-of-state, I wouldn't risk it unless you can adhere to the true meaning of concealed.

Come on now!

I think the best SHRIMP poboy in town is at Mike Andersen's on Bourbon, if for nothing else but sheer size! LOL!!

Hey dude!

I've been checking in a little but not participating much. Had a little spurt of business in Dec. that kept me real busy through the holidays and up through the last couple of weeks.

Good to see you as well.

the confederacy museum across the street from the ww2 museum is worth a look....I wouldn't go out of my way for it, because it is small, but if you're gonna be right there you might as well!

don't waste your time w/ bubba gumps, or the margaritaville down there...look for the smaller dive looking places and you'll have your better meals

went a couple months back....hated every second of it...way too many thugs, beggars, hippies and otherwise smelly people for me...........i didn't leave the room w/o my surefire, my kershaw blur, kimber pepperblaster II, my kimber compact cdpii w/ 7+1, and 4 spare mags......thats one place the fiance is just gonna have to get over the idea of visiting a lot...i dont care how close it is

Since I was the one who started this thread, I figured I would throw my experience in….

I went with my family to NOLA in January for my birthday. We went to the WW2 museum, Bubba Gump’s, and tried to go to Café du Monde. The WW2 museum was awesome and totally worth the trip. We went to Bubba Gump’s just because of the name. Food was ok, but it was expensive and I was actually a little pissed because I felt for what we got it was overpriced. We tried to go to Café du Monde but there was a line and it was getting dark. We wanted to start heading home before the sun went down, or at least get out of NOLA. We never had any problems with any of the people.

I used to go there all the time....but in the last several years, maybe once a year or less for a specified event.... never personally had an issue, but did have a friend get mugged once way back in 1984...they only got a few $'s, but in the act of snatching the $ out of his hand they got his naval academy ring....he was BENT! I'll be packing fo' sho'.... and have the eatin' planned out already....

I had someone shadow me a few years ago in the French Quarter. I was sure he was following me and it wasn't just my paranoia as I'm not very paranoid at all just aware. I carried in NOLA before I even had my permit. Better to be tried by twelve than carried by six. NOLA and Jackson, MS are dangerous places to be.
