Wouldn't you know they'd release that cool .458 bullet after I just developed a great load for my .45-70, and then I went out and bought a lifetime supply of components for it! Arggh. Back to the drawing board...jbpmidas said:

They also have a new "Monoflex" bullet for the .45-70. It is actually part of their Leverevolution line. It is a GMX bullet with the Flex Tip. They are offering it in 250gr. in .458 diameter. Can't wait for this one to come out!
I'm using the Remington 300-gr JHP. Once I found the right seating depth, I started getting great accuracy. Haven't shot a deer with it yet. Hopefully Monday will be the day!jbpmidas said:What bullet are you using? I'd like to try the barnes 250 tac also!
That's cool. I've considered doing something with those round nose bullets. I suspect they're a good bit tougher than these Remingtons I'm using.jbpmidas said:I'm using 350 gr Hornady roundnose. Haven't checked it for groups yet, but I've got about 8" drop at 200, so I feel good with it!
Next Saturday will be my day. I'll be at State Fire Academy all week.
