Dad's in Pascagoula had a Browning 12ga O/U for $1400 a couple weeks ago. They also have Stevens and Stoeger for around $550 or less. The Frachis they have sell for $1497.95+tax and have a $200 rebate (mail-in) on them right now. The Franchis are very light, though, and my 20ga kicks like my old 12ga Browning BPS.

Are you talking about real trap, on a trap field from the 16 to 27 yard line...or just shooting clay targets in the backyard...? If you want a designated trap gun, I know where a browning citori trap gun can be had for a steal...30" bbls, ported, adjustable comb, adjustable pad, screw choked...just get in touch...

Since you are located on the Gulf Coast, go by the Coast Rifle and Pistol Club this Saturday, or any first Saturday for their monthly ATA Trap Shoot. Join in the fun and there will be lots of people there with guns that range from entry level to professional quality. Take a look at the guns they are shooting and I bet the shooters will let you handle and take a few shots with different guns and give you plenty of hands on advice. Trap is a great sport ...enjoy the fun.

i found a couple mossburg silver reserves over unders for 370-550, just dont know about them much. how good is a stevens and stoeger.
Not any better - maybe even a little worse. Lots of those Turkish and Russian made guns are sitting in gunsmith's shops waiting on non-existant spare parts. You may get lucky and get one that is OK but I personally wouldn't risk it.
