How do night force scopes compare to the other high end scopes ( zeiss Khales swaraski )when it comes to low light gathering abilities? I'm wanting something in 56 mm objective.

Wish I could help ya but I've only looked through one in my life while shooting some bad a$$ 338 lapua during the day. But I must say that mutha was bad.

I'd say there pretty close. You'll just have to decide for your self. I really like the ziess for the money.

i think its a personal preference on this one. I would try to find someone with each one you like that you can compare side by side in field conditions right at dark, that is the only way to tell. You cannot tell in a store looking through the scopes under flouresent lights.

i have a german zeiss 7x42 binos (about 15yrs old) and i have a 12x42x56 nightforce scope. The nightforce glass at dark seem to be clearer and brighter than the binos to me. I know kinda apples to oranges.

Dont think you could go wrong with either one.

I like my NF quite well. Trying to figure out which reticle to get can be a chore...

Yea the redical choice is a girl dog. I have a 6 x 20 x5o zeiss and have only looked thro bightforce scopes during the day. Thinkn about the 2 x 15x56 swaraski or nf. Never looked thro anything but my zeiss in extreme low light

Never owned a Zeiss, Khales or Swarovski but I love my NF it pretty much blew the socks off my old Mark 4. I would rank NF as having better glass than the high-end Luppy's and IOR's but not quite on par with USO, S&B and Premier. www.SWFA.com will usually has the lowest prices but you can also check www.OpticsPlanet.Net they usually have free shipping.

I'm waiting until we start drilling before I start building a gun or a scope to put on it. I have to look thro afew nf after dark and do all my home work before I start anything

heck I'd say that about a good nikon. lol I'm not a leupold fan. Maybe I just haven't met the right one to see what the big attraction is to them, but the ones I've looked thru haven't impressed me. I like a zeiss but have onlylooked thru them in the store. Never outside.
