INFORMATION LETTER
DATE/TIME/LOCATION: THE 2010 NASC will be held at the Southaven, MS Police Department Training Complex located at 8191 Tulane Road in Southaven, MS. The competition will start at 0800 hours on Monday, March 22, 2010 and conclude on Thursday afternoon, March 25, 2010.
ELIGIBILITY OF COMPETITORS: THE 2010 NASC is open to all full-time police and military personnel who have primary or additional duties in a sniper/observer capacity. The competition will be limited to 30 teams. Registration paperwork must be returned to the match coordinator no later than March 1, 2010.
ENTRY FEE: The cost for each two-man team is $300.00. Each additional team from the same agency will be discounted $50.00. Payments are due at in-processing on March 21, 2010 unless other arrangements have been made with the match coordinator. Each competitor will receive an official 2010 NASC t-shirt. Be sure to include your t-shirt size on the registration form.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY/SAFETY AGREEMENT: Each competitor must execute a Release of Liability/Safety Agreement form and return it with the registration paperwork.
MEALS: Meals at the in-processing briefing, social night, and awards banquet are provided by the NASC. All other meals are the responsibility of the competitor.
IN-PROCESSING: In-processing will be held at the Southaven Police Department Range Complex on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 1500-1800 hours. At 1800 hours, there will be a competitor briefing and meal at the facility. Late arrivals need to notify the Match Coordinator.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: It is the responsibility of each competitor to furnish all equipment and ammunition needed for the competition. Each competitor will need a minimum of 150 rounds of rifle ammunition and all call-out gear to include eye and ear protection. Also, new this year, competitors will need patrol rifle and handgun. Bring a minimum of 50 rounds for both of these weapons.
ALL AMMUNITION USED DURING THE COMPETITION MUST BE FACTORY AMMUNITION. NO HANDLOADED AMMUNITION WILL BE ALLOWED. AMMUNITION IS SUBJECT TO INSPECTION BY RANGE OFFICERS.
AWARDS BANQUET: The 2010 NASC awards banquet will be held at 1900 hours on March 25, 2010. The location will be announced. Trophies, plaques, merchandise and/or cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams and individuals.

SAFETY AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM
1. Competitors will report to the range with a safe (unloaded) and properly functioning weapon and FACTORY MATCH GRADE AMMUNITION (NO HANDLOADS) designed for their weapon system.
2. Competitors will not load weapons until told to do so by the range officer.
3. When on the firing line, all weapons will be pointed down range at all times.
4. Upon the command of “cease-fire”, competitors will immediately stop firing and make their weapon safe.
5. NOBODY will move down range until the firing line is declared safe by the range officer.
6. Competitors will wear eye/ear protection while on the firing line.
7. Competitors will notify the range officer of any weapon malfunctions.
8. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on the range.
9. Safety is everyone’s concern. All competitors are responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to the range officer.
10. When not in use, all weapons will be unloaded and properly secured.
11. Violation of the above rules may result in the competitor being dismissed from the competition.
The 2010 North American Sniper Championship (NASC) will be a physically demanding rifle competition that will include the use of high-powered rifles and physical activity such as running, crawling, and jumping. I certify that I am in good health and have the physical ability to compete safely. I understand and will abide by the above safety guidelines. In the event that I am injured, I hereby fully release the Mississippi Tactical Officers’ Association, the City of Southaven, Mississippi, and any persons working in a staff or range officer capacity, both individually and as a group, from any liability.

The 2010 North American Sniper Championship will be held March 22-25, 2010 at the Southaven, MS Police Department Training Complex located at 8191 Tulane Road in Southaven, MS. This is just a short distance from the Memphis, TN airport. 2-Man police and military sniper teams from around the United States are invited to attend this event. Cost for each 2-man team is $300.00 with a discount of $50.00 for each additional team from the same agency. For registration packets and information, go to www.mtoa.us and click on “events”.
Vendors are invited to attend the awards banquet and display their equipment on the night of March 25, 2010. There is no charge for vendor attendance if equipment is donated for the awards table. If a vendor would like to help sponsor the event but can’t attend, donations and product literature can be shipped in. Contact Charles Sumner at the phone/e-mail below to coordinate shipments.
