What make and power do you guys have on your pistols to hunt. I have 4 six inch pistols (3 - .357, 1 - 44). All these post about taking deer with a pistol has kind of whet my appitite. I don't imagine I would be shooting more than 40-50 yards max.
Ya'll like adjustable or set powers? What kind of reticle do you prefer?
I have never shot a pistol with a scope so I don't know a thing about it.
What is a fair price for a smith to tap your pistol. You recommend him doing the whole 9 yards, tapping and mounting?

If any of these are a smith&wesson all you have to do in take the rear sight off and buy/ mount a S&W scope mount straight to you gun. No drilling or tapping needed.

I have a 2x boush&lomb (now owned by bushnell) on my Smith 657 (41mag) and a Burris 1.5X4 on my ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Cassull.

I've shot some pretty hot handloads in the Ruger before I got smart and started shooting 45 colt. The Burris is a nice scope but 4x seems a little strong for the ranges I hunt with handguns.
