As a Mississippi resident, can I purchase a gun at a gunshow in another state? I going to Missouri in June and there happens to be a big show while I'm there.

I don't think so. You can buy from an individual, but not from an FFL. It is confusing, so I don't go to out of state gunshows.

Long guns - yes, from a dealer. No, from an individual.

You could always have the dealer there ship the gun to you if you found one you couldn't live without.

Yes you can buy anything you want. You just may have to send it home to your ffl.

It is a federal violation to sell a pistol to a person whom you know does not reside in your state and also to bring a pistol that you purchased in another state into yours.

See 18 USC 922(a)(3) and (a)(5).

Yes on longguns, just don't buy more than 2 or they must report it to the ATF.
Absolutely do not buy from individual out of state. only dealers.

You cannot buy a firearm from a private citizen from another State. The transfer has to be by FFL. You cannot buy a handgun from an FFL from another State, you can only purchase long arms at a gunshow in another State and only from a FFL Dealer.

Ok just for having a good discussion.

What's the difference in me going to a out of state gun show and finding that dream Springfield custom shop 1911PRO just the way I want it. I pay the dealer the $2500 and have him send it to my home FFL, where I pick it up when I get home.

Or

I get online on this dealers web page and see he's got the PRO instock. I call him up and give him a CC# over the phone. Fax him a copy of my guys FFL lic. He send me the gun.
