I looked to see how many signed up so far. Looks like it would be a good time for someone looking to shoot their first match to me.

    Holiday weekend.

Does "any safe holster/position allowed" include starting from low ready position as in rimfire?

Shooting from a low ready position as in .22 pistols doesn't really go into holster position. I would think any safe holster position would work for rimfire pistols. There is always the bag/box option with rimfire.

When in doubt check with the match director prior to the match starting. He can make the ruling and you won't be in the wrong. The match director is the one that will determine what is a safe holster and what is a safe holster position.

    Yes. It does.
You will un-bag the pistol before shooting and bag it after shooting each stage

I apologize! I think I have created some confusion:D:D:D. I was asking about center fire and the possibility of using a bag instead of holster like I do in rimfire steel matches.

I would say that you can. Just ask the Match Director to be sure

Granjack - you can shoot a centerfire from low ready instead of holster, but it does require having three seconds added to each run. We follow the Steel Challenge rules on that

Thanks, doubt I can draw in three seconds so the penalty wouldn't hurt anyway :p:p:p

That's how I look at it - takes me three seconds before my brain realizes the timer went off
