Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about these rifles? It's a Parker-Hale rifle in 30.06. It's about 20 years old but never been shot. It's been put up in a gun safe all this time.
A friend of mine wants to sell it. We don't need another one but... considering it.
Any info on how well they shoot or any quirks would be appreciated. Also, if you would be interested in buying it, and we decide we don't want it, I can put you in touch with him.
thanks,
sunny

added: I'm trying to get more info on it as to whether it's a bolt action, automatic or what at this time. will let you know when I know.

Talking off the top of my head -- Parker/Hale of Birmingham, England. If I am correct, all they made were bolt action. They did produce a Model 82 in 7.62 NATO that was used by the British, Canadian, and Australian military as sniper rifles.

You should be able to find a lot of info if you get the model number.

It's a 30-06. A friend in Hurley is the one who has it. $450 for it, & I have no idea if that's a good price or not.
I'll get back to you with other details later today.

What model is it? I had the model 84 Target .308 with an adjustable rear sight and cheek piece and in excellent condition which had a estimated value of $1200. There were several models made over the years= 1200, 1100, 81 classic, 81 African, 84 and 85 all in various calibers and all were bolt action. The company also made shotguns.

more info from owner:

tell who ever was interested that the rifle is (as best as Ralph & I can tell) a model 1100 light weight. The last Blue Book lists it at $495.00 for 100% which this is. It has never been shot or even had a round in the chamber.
