I have been looking for data for the 6.5x47 that I built other than the Lapua data useing Vhit. powder. I contacted Hogdon to see if they have anything that isn't published on their site and this is the response I got from them.

"I am afraid that we do not have any data for this cartridge. At this time, Lapua does not participate in any American ammunition standards program and they do not provide reference ammo that is used to calibrate fixtures, barrels and piezo electric transducers. They have not provided any pressure standards, port placement specs or anything else. I do not suspect much data from U.S. companies until Lapua cooperates some.

Ok for the purpose of gaining some knowledge can anyone tell me about the process that Mr. Daly is speaking of. I am assuming that these transducers are some form of measuring the pressure's for a particular test load.

I just finished reading lymann reloading handbook 49th edition. It had some information on them. Basically you assume right. The transducers measure the pressure a load produces. It doesn't go into detail about it though. Equipment for testing is probably very expensive too.

A transducer in this application, 'reads' a pressure and converts that to an electrical signal that is displayed by a gauge of some type. They are calibrated to certain pressures. Different pressures create different electrical signals.
