Anybody ever used an optic adapter when you don't have a milled area for an optic?
Any thoughts?

The only one I've used is the one from Dueck Defense that has the front/rear sights as well. It's a good mount. Puts optic a little higher but it zeroed fine and rock solid. Can't speak for the others.

For less than $20 it's worth a shot.
I went similar route to try optic on handgun out before went with milled slide to make sure I liked it and could shoot with it.

I’ve got one on a G20 with a Burris Fastfire. Haven’t had any problems with it.

As mentioned I’ve got a Burris mount on a g20 and it’s been good. I’ve had it mounted for about 7 years

Yes don't remember the brand fit in the rear sight dovetail and worked good on my G17.
