A FB friend of mine who is retired from Anniston and worked in the department that the CMP guns went through before going to the store has told me that the next time I come up he can save me a lot of money on guns as he and his former fellow anniston employees get first pick of the CMP guns. Also his former co worker and friend owns B&B Guns, 30 miles from Anniston with an inventory of 1400 plus guns and says he can get me some very good discounts on guns. Also, another friend owns Summit Ammo and he says he can get me huge discounts on about any type of ammo. So first I am thinking of taking another trip up there the end of March and maybe picking up another Garand from CMP and checking out B&B. But I may take a trip up sooner for ammo if some others want to buy some. He said just send him a list of ammo types we want and he will give me pricing. So if anyone is interested, send me ammo your interested in, Ill forward it on to him for pricing and see if he actually has a good handle on huge discounts. If so, I will make a trip.

He told me that right now HE has 14,000 rounds of 5.56 for $375 per 1000. He says Cheaper than dirt is selling the same thing right now for $479 plus freight. They came from an LC Contract through Summit. Can get the 7.62x51 and 30-06 but would have to come up and go with him to Summit because the price depends on which contract they are working on at the time, but he will get discounts off the contract prices. He says B&B has better pricing than CMP on most everything and can get deals on 30-06. Same thing for reloading supplies, depends on which contract they are working on. But he is talking about coming up, meeting with him, going to Summit for Ammo and doing some shooting. Anyone interested?

Im going to let him know that and see what he says. Thanks.
His responce:

"If you want that, thats fine. I don't shoot the Federal stuff in 5.56. If it's that cheap then they are loading pulls and reusing powder. I know that Summit uses H 335 powder and there stuff shoots really good. anyway which ever way you want to go is fine.

Tanker, the Federal M855 ammo is "seconds" (aka: XM855), but is original Lake City ammo. Some I have seen is LC 10 headstamp. As we all know, Uncle Sam will not allow "top shelf" Lake City ammo to be sold to the US market. We get "seconds" if lucky, and some "thirds".

Thanks for staying in touch for us...............
