That's why everyone needs a backup coffee supply. Mine is to heat water on the grill and pour it slowly down the grounds cup in the coffee maker.

Yep, I learned while growing up in a house from early 70's( ie, Reddy Kilawatt) all electric house. I built my house with gas, where appropriate, and electric.

The problem with a percolator is that they are best when used with a coarse grind. Everything in the store now is fine grind. Great if you grind your own - not so great if you are buying store-bought coffee.

Power was back on at 1:35 pm. A transformer box that sits on the ground had to be replaced about a block away from us.
This morning I stepped out to talk with the skinny neighbor, she didn't have her coffee either.
Good thing the camper is in the driveway. Boiled water on the stove and poured it in the filter basket to make 4 cups. We sat out front yard as others drove by looking.
