Ever since beginning to participate in centerfire F class last year, I've really enjoyed hearing a lot of storytelling about what folks do to squeeze out every point a match.

Thought I'd ask some of the folks on here to list a few of the things they do while pursuing The "magic load"...

One of the most crazy I've heard of thus far was someone who actually weighed each benchrest primer on a scale and sorted them out....I told him he obviously did not have enough to do....

I'm sure they are plenty of other quirks...whether or not they actually contribute to better scores is irrelevant...If itmakes you feel better is all that matters!...Right?...

Personally, I do weigh each powder charge I throw on a balance beam scale...I don't find many that are off more than .1 grain....but off is off

I use the rcbs chargemaster 1050 :D
i usually full length resize and trim each brass to start after they have been fired thru that rifle. Use a lee collet neck sizer. In my 300 i use winchester primers, couldnt get the cci br primers to group good with.
It all boils down to consistant neck pressure and seating depth. My powder charges are within .05-.1gr so that helps.

First of all in .308 I use Lapua Brass. I trim with a Giraud trimmer, use the rcbs chargemaster for each charge, Federal Gold Medal Match primers, Redding Dies with the bushing for necksizing.

I dont weigh bullets or primers. I do try to buy powder in 8lb kegs so once I work up a load I stick with it.

At some point I decided to quit chasing the elusive unicorn and enjoying shooting if my reloads would equal or exceed Federal Gold Medal Match factory loads.

I am new to the area and would love to attend an F Class match. Have a couple sticks built by GAP, APA and others in need of exercise.
