I noticed muddawg95yj is getting ready to place another order for Lone Wolf Glock parts and I've been considering converting my G22 to 9mm. It looks like the barrel is cheap enough to justify, but I'm wondering what else I would need to replace. Will I need to purchase a 9mm trigger housing with the 9mm ejector? Also, will my 40 cal extractor be OK, or will I need to replace that, as well, with a 9mm extractor? Additionally, has anyone here done this conversion? If so, how reliable do you find it? I guess I'm asking if it's worthwhile, or not. I like my G22 just as it is, but would use it a lot more, if the ammo was a little cheaper. 9mm ammo fits my budget much better than 40, but I don't want to waste the money for the conversion, if it's not as reliable as a standard Glock.

I considered getting a .22 kit for one of my Glocks a while back, but they seemed too troublesome to be worthwhile. This idea seems much more sensible, since the G22 is so similar to a G17. If it's just a barrel I need, that looks like it could be done for around a hundred bucks, which seems resonable. But, if I need several other parts, it might get too cost prohibitive to be worthwhile. I'd appreciate your thoughts and/or experiences.:)

MAGS, MAGS, MAGS................
You will need 9mm mags also...
Reliability will be greater than 95% IMO. You could convert the other pieces, but they will work just fine for "range" use. After using at range for a while, if it doesn't satisfy your needs, LWD barrels sell quick b/c people like them. I have a few and no problems yet.
40 mags work with 40 or 357 sig, but 9mm mags only work w/9mm.
CDNN has best price on mags.
Hope this help......Go for it.

Thanks Guys. Found your experiences very helpful.:) Also, watched a Utube video last night that explained a lot that I didn't know. If I had done a little research, I'd have realized that the barrels are machined a little offset to handle the pieces I asked about. However, I had just about figured that out from the things you had to say.:) Sounds like a viable and affordable solution that I may have to test drive soon.

Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice on the conversion barrel. Took mine to the range today and it performed flawlessly. I did notice that it likes to eject the spent loads over my right shoulder, but none came close enough to touch me. It's actually a pretty slick conversion. Barrel and mag is all it takes to have dual caliber gun.

I do have another observation to share, though. I needed to order some stuff from CTD and decide to take a chance on some of the cheap KCI mags. I ordered 2 G17 mags with a 2 mag pouch for $10 and another G18 33 round mag for another $10. Figured it was worth a chance for 3 mags for about the same price as 1 Glock. Well, these things are a little pleasing and a little disappointing. I knew to clean them up inside and out before trying to use them. Wasn't too much of a chore. Good news is they seem to work just fine, however I don't think I'd ever rely on them for anything other than range mags. Bad news is they're a bear to load, even with a mag loader. Seems they're a little deeper than Glock mags and the bullets want to tilt in both directions. You spend a lot of time slapping them against your palm. The 33 round mag was much easier than the 17s, but still difficult. One plus is that it holds 34 rounds. The negative is that I'm too poor to be able to load a box of cartridges into 2 mags. All in all, it wasn't a bad deal for some extra range mags. I've got enough 9mm mags now to load about 3 boxes before leaving for the range. Helps a bunch, since it's too hot to be loading mags in the hot sun.:)
