We are headed out to TN this week and I want to take a couple of rifles to take my nephew shooting when I get there. I will be crossing Alabama, Georgia and into TN. Is it legal to carry rifles like that? I wont be carrying ammo because I am going to buy it there.

I regularly carry a trunk full to my land in louisiana. The wrong cop can make any thing a major pita, but i dont worry about it.

TN, GA, AL, LA (not counting New Orleans) all gun friendly states..and we talking rifles.....He aint driving to NY

Just unload em...put em in gun cases, roll on an be happy....no biggie

Nothing illegal about it, especially where you're headed. It's not like anybody's going to ask you about it at a check anyway. I travel to a lot of states with various guns and have never had a problem. Like 'Neck said, put 'em in a case and ride and have a good time shooting!

You must have the rifles stored in the trunk, unloaded, in a secure container. If you do that, you should be fine since the rifles would be legal at your destination.

City cops are scard of guns . I got pulled over in mandeville Louisiana at 3 am with 2 pistols a shotgun two 22 rifles a 300 wsm and a pellet gun. If u don't count the 3 bricks of 22s I think I have about 600 rounds with me. I forgot to mention I drive a Nissian sentra. I new it was Gunna b a bad when the cop found the 2nd knife on me and asked if I had any other weapons in the car.
