Rem 700 action, Krieger barrel

about 50 rds through it

mstropyhunter cleaned me out on this one

That sexy 6.5-47 Lapula cartridge was just too much for me..Now If I can just talk X-Ring into letting me play in Open class.... :bow:

I like it! I.m sure it's ablast to shoot. Do you have to buy new brass or form it from some other cartridge?

I think Lapula is the only folks that make the brass....Its high $...fortunately I got some in my deal.

I'm not totally up to speed on this cartridge...it and the 260 Remington are ballistically pretty similar...but the 6.5x47 case just gets me all tingly (just like Chris Matthews gets when Obama speaks)

Obviously reloading is a must...

20 rds of 6.5 Lapula already loaded is about $65...ouch

The cartridge was developed to get better than .308 performance at long range with better barrel life than 6mm BR and way less recoil than a .308

Hoping to load some Berger VLD hunting bullets in her this season and waste a few nannies

Barrel is a bit heavy for hunting use but I'll manage

As I get into reloading more, I would like to have a "unique" cartidge rifle. I have a Mauser, and if I ever had the money I would like to build it. I've thought of a 8mm-06 or .338-06.

Only problem with the more esoteric calibers is they can be really tough to feed...

This one kept me awake at night...it cost me an arm, leg and kidney!

mstropyhunter is still counting all his money and goods taken in on this one...

but at least I can sleep in peace now...

That's one thing I like about the 8mm-06 and .338-06, they should be easy to feed. 6.5mm-06 would be interesting also!

well neck said i cleaned him out on this deal it was really the other way around. i put this gun together to be a shooter and it did not let me down very accurate rifle great little round with very good barrel life i like to shoot but i love to put together a accurate gun then sell it and start over .barrel is kreiger 1/9 twist stainless steel i think its 28 inch long, stock is a bell carson, caliber is 6.5x47 lapau that really liked 120 matchking reloader 15 powder,cci 450 primers , lapau brass i think norma makes this brass to i perfer lapau norma for some reason norma always give me trouble . its a trued rem 700 action new when i put it together, still has rem trigger neck had to have it before i put in a rifle basixs . neck now has a ftr class 308 [old blue] and a open class 6.5x47 so we are gonna be in trouble this next year at bogue chitto 600 think i will move over to precision rifle class

Neck if you going to shoot open you need to get you some 140gr Rem coreloks ACC Dp2200 powder and wolf primers and you will be right there with us. :evil:
