Remington 700 SPS tactical

Anyone have this rifle? Its the 308 with the houge over mold stock and the 20" bull barrel. I like this lil rifle and might have to get me one.

Any thoughts or comments on it as well.
I want me a 700 to play with in 308. Any suggestions?

Yea I think I'm gonna hold off on fixing up my 270 A-Bolt and get me a 700/308 for deer huntin and I like the shortness of it.

Anyone have experience with the x mark trigger? How is it?

its pretty nice for what it is.. externally adjustable.

I wouldnt have any concerns to change it out. Heck my cheap R700 .270 has the factory trigger adjusted and it does just fine.

Jewel Triggers are $250 to replace...if you can't get a good smith to get it down to 2.5 lbs for hunting...

The jewels get down to 1/8 ounce

depends on whether you wanna shoot targets or shoot animals

I know plenty of folks who can make that Rem 700 trigger pretty nice...still I am having a couple Jewels put on a few

Get the 700...try it out...Get the jewel trigger when funds allow

SPS Tactical

I have one in 223 and it is topped with a 10x42 tactical scope. It is a tack driver! Have it set at 100yds for varm. and it will do better than 1/2" MOA off the bench. ( With Hand Loads) of course!! Go ahead and get one you will love it!

dhollis,

Ive got one and I love it!!! Its a sweet shooting rifle right out of the box...its my favorite rem 700 ive got (i got 4 of em). Im not into reloading and it'll shoot under MOA all day long with factory ammo. Ide love to see what it would do with some good hand loads!

Alright they have a nother model with a threaded barrel on it anyone have this one?

I might have to get this one and get a supressor for it and do alil hog hunting:)

will there be a huge difference in the 1-10 twist and the 1-12 twist when I will be shooting it with out the suppressor for a while and most of the time?

1:10 twist will be the happy medium for the heavy sub sonic rounds but will still shoot good with the fast 168grs and such.

I just got a Savage .308 barrel im gonna get chopped down and threaded for my stevens rifle. its a 1:10 twist.

Speaking from experience a 1:12 barrel with a can is a disaster! 1:10 is ok with a 200 grain round nose but not great. 1:8 is your best bet but you will not be able to buy it over the counter. If you go with a 1:12 twist of greater dont be surprised if you knock the end of your can out. The bullet was all over the place with a 1:12 in a 700 action .308.

without the can and the 1:12 twist it would do nasty damage on a target 50yds away :D
Gotta look on the brighter side
The way I was looking at it, I just didnt want Jay to trash a can that was still brand new!

dock rocker is absolutely correct...learned all that the hard way. Im gonna have a 1:8 twist barrel made for my encore...for a "suppressor only" gun

Its kinda hard to combine the two and both of them be really accurate
