Not sure. I remember reading something about those rifles a few years ago. I had one and sold it to my hunting buddys son and he has had no problems with it. I think that the info I read was about the barrel and receiver. I will look and see if I can find that info.
Remington 770 barrel removal
I have done a ton of Remington 700. Can a 770 barrel be changed?
