I like high technology gadgets as much as the next guy, and I have a couple of nice black guns fitted out with all the goodies. But I am also a fan of the true classics where long guns are concerned. I've grown increasingly fond of the Winchester Model 1895 rifles (one Winchester manufacture, and one Browning) I've acquired recently, but something was missing. They both have buckhorn sights with gold bead front, and they work just fine that way.

But for my 30-06 Winchester, I wanted something a little bit retro in a finely adjustable rear. The Lyman 66 WB fit the bill just fine and works well with the original gold bead.

Nice rifle. I wish I had one in ole 3006. Although I wouldnt turn one down in other chamberings.
There are several available on my favorite auction site, both in the full size and military carbine configuration. The calibers available in the new rifles are 30-06, 30-40, 270, and 405 Winchester.

Kudos, Free Stater.

I'm a big fan of peep sights as well. First rifle I ever bought was a Czech Mauser that had been Bubba'ed with the addition of a Lyman peep sight that is very similar to the one on your rifle.

Nice rifle you've got there, too. I've always wished to stumble across a '95 in 7.62 x 54R that Winchester manufactured for the Tsarist gov't. before the Russian revolution.
