I have a ruger p-89 that me and my wife were shooting today. The gun kept hanging up on her. Me and my dad both tried to make the gun jam with about 200 rounds could not make it do it. Any suggestions on why this was just happening to her.

"Limp wristing" would be my guess. An auto pistol requires the frame to remain somewhat stationary while the slide recoils. If sufficient force is not applied to the grip, the slide cannot recoil properly.

Well that does make sense. I figured it has to be something like that because this pistol has never FTF.

My wife has such weak wrists that even a .22 has FTE. Gonna have to get her a revolver.

Off subject but ive tried my best to get my Service Model .40 to FTF. ive held it with my thumb on the grip safty and my middle finger on the front grip and pulled the trigger and it when thru 2 mags no problem. It was a bugger to hold on to tho.


How does your wifey hold the pistol? If she locks her left wrist with the right grip she shouldnt have a problem.
