Does anyone know a good belt and holster for this weapon for CCW? Its a big gun but I am a big guy. I contemplated a shoulder holster but its just too damn hot to cover one up this time of year. Any suggestions? The more affordable the better.

Will you be carrying IWB or OWB? You mean big tall, big wide, or big both? If big tall, that'll help. Big wide makes the grips stick out some, depending on your build (barrel chest vs muffin top). I like the in the waist holsters myself, don't even own an OWB holster that didn't come with a gun (i.e., XD).

I had a P90, about the same size, and that sucker would be tough for anyone to conceal! Come fall, a vest will do you proud. For now, you'd just about have to have an untucked shirt to make it work. If you get one o' them Magnum PI hawaiian flowerdy shirts, with the loud colors, nobody will ever notice you printing....

For IWB, I've owned several. The MTAC is a good one, virtually identical to the Crossbreed. I also love Milt Sparks VM2, though the $$ and the wait is a frustration.

If you aren't familiar with him, look up Nick Mathews. He does a working man's version of the Sparks Versa Max 2, and is considerably faster and less $$. He can put a reinforced mouth on the holster (like the VM2) if you insist, though mine didn't need it.

If you really want concealment, there's nothing I've used that I like so well as the Tucker Texas Heritage. I got mine with the velcro straps, and bought one of their belts with the velcro lining. The result is a tuckable rig that can become invisible with a little fluffing of your shirt!

Last advice is this: if you're serious about concealed carry, get a different weapon. Don't mean to sound harsh, and I love Rugers, but that's a large framed weapon not intended for use as concealed carry. Find a small framed 9mm or even (as I did) a 3" 1911 in .45 ACP. Still very flat, still has 7+1 capacity.

I agree with you about it nt really being a CCW. I just dont have another option at this time. I love the 1911 style pistols but I will have to save a few sheckles before I can buy one of those.

Do you think that would conceal better than IWB? Maybe I should sell the Ruger. I just bought it and I havent even fired it yet, so no time like the present. I do like the Ruger gun though. What about the Glock 19, The Taurus 1911, or any other suggestion under 700?

You can conceal a Ruger P95 if you are willing to spend the money to get a good holster and a good belt. Lightning Arms has a couple of Milt Sparks holsters in stock for the P95 right now. Cheap? No. Top quality custom leather? Yes. Might be more than you are willing to spend, but if not, I recommend you give them a look.

IWB is best for ccw, but can be done with owb holsters. You could conceal a pump shotgun if you tried just a little. Just saying. If u like the P95 then spend the money and buy good "leather" because u need comfort while carrying or you'll be "adjusting" constantly. You've been provided with the best products info out there w/ experience with them to boot now choose what you like and get it.

If you can come up with $700, you can definitely find a more concealable firearm! Again, nothing wrong with the Ruger, and if you're really high on it, don't turn it loose. But for around $400-450, you can get a Rock Island Armory shipped from Sarco, and a Tactical at that! For carry I'd look at a Commander size, RIA makes that for around the same $$, and they make the Officer's size (3"?) as well. A GREAT carry gun for concealment and it shoots a .45 ACP, the round that was actually shot behind the scenes down the shaft to explode the Death Star... just a thought.

My personal experience definitely places the RIA in a position of honor. The gun is relatively accurate (not Ed Brown accurate, but as accurate as Kimbers costing over twice as much), and is dead reliable. As in, no hiccups in the time I've owned it. Hard to beat that!

They do make a RIA Compact Tactical, BTW. A link to a new owner's thoughts:
