So i'm looking for a 22 pistol and i can't deciede which one to get.

I like the ruger and shot them before but i want to swap out for a threaded barrel and on the ruger you have to change the whole action and barrel so that's like 350 bucks plus FFL fee

the browning buck mark you can get just the barrel for about 250 and no ffl fee. But i've never shot nor even held one of these.. what do you guys think?

Ruger is the only one id consider, you could get the factory barrel threaded. Theres good reason they are so popular, i loved mine but had to sell it unfortunately.I found deals on several walking around the last gunshow, i just wasnt in the market then for one.

They take it off and move it back . I have a mark II bull barrell , and love it .

I have had both guns, wasn't much difference between them in relialibity or accuracy. You can get both with bull barrels and get them threaded be a whole lot cheaper than buying a new upper for the Ruger or a barrel for the Browning.

so what's the difference b/w a ruger MKIII and a ruger 22/45 MK III

mkiii has a more raked grip, the 22/45 has the same grip angle as a 1911

I will probably get a 22/45 next myself, i didnt really care for the angle of the grip on the mkii i had.

22/45 is a poly lower too, where the mk3 is metal.

ruger...

mk1 and 2 are basically the same as the 3, but the mag release is located at the bottom of the grip, where the mk3 and 22/45 have a thumb button like your typical, modern semi autos

Last time i was at Bills gun shop in utica he had 2 Ruger Mark IIs he had just got threaded.

Im taking mine there when my paperwork for the can comes back.

Have you considered the Buckmark camper (whisper)? It comes with the barrel already threaded. I have one and like it alot. I'm not partial either way though when It comes to Browning or Ruger, I like things about both of them.

I own both a Ruger 6 7/8 target and a Browning Buckmark with a 5.5 Bull barrel. They are both accurate guns. Good luck.
