Lost a giant trout this morning. 30"-32" approximately 16"+ girth most likely double digit weight. This fish will challenge the state record during the spawn when it is full of eggs. Had it in the net 3 times but my buddy couldn't get it in the boat. Net wasn't big enough for a fish this size to begin with. Hooked it on a TTR11 Mirrolure and had all 3 trebles in it but it finally tore all of the hooks out on the third attempt to net it. Fish of a lifetime and I just had to watch it swim off. Never had losing a fish take the air completely out of me like losing that one did. This fish was a true giant. Hooked it in about 6' of water on a rising tide around some pilings. My buddy said in the 50+ years he has fished for trout on the coast and all of the really big trout he has seen he had never seen a trout that big.

SJ, sorry You lost the Big Fish. I have Kinfolk down Your way, I use to come down that way and fish when I was a kid. I had two Great Uncles that would take me out in the Gulf fishing. That was some Great Times. A cousin of mine down in Long Beach use to make baits they were called the "Norm Bait" I think. You might have heard of them. Good Fishing to You!!!! :sunny:
