Safe place to buy a private party gun in Jackson

Sometime this week I should be meeting up with a guy (that I do not know personally) to buy a gun. I have never purchased a firearm from someone I didn't know. Any suggestions on a decent place to meet in the jxn area? Obviously I don't want to go to a stranger's home who I know has a gun, and who knows I've got cash. I'm thinking a Walmart parking lot might not be the best place to be having such an exchange. Thanks in advance!

FYI... most Wal-Mart stores have fairly decent security camera coverage in the parking lots... at least that's what I've been told. :)

If ya ain't "comfy" with who you're dealing with... trust your intuition and stay home!!! ;) o_O

Like Frodo never had a problem at ANY Home Depot in the Jackson area.
Generally, just like little elbow room in parking lot,:hiya:

I used to work for them, I know from seeing things happen what goes on in and around those stores. even Clinton was pretty active crime wise. Bunch of shoplifting, multiple drug deals in parking lot and several vehicles stolen

I personally wouldn't conduct a gun purchase/sale in a shopping center parking lot, as someone is liable to call 9-1-1 and then things would go downhill fast.

The exception would be if it was a handgun and the exchange took place inside a vehicle outside of the view of the public, or in front of a business that sells firearms.

My last purchase was in the front parking lot of Ridgeland PD, after going into the lobby and advising that I was going to purchase a shotgun out front.

The dispatcher thanked me for letting them know. About five minutes later a patrol car drove by, but didn't stop, and the shotgun was very visible.

I know you worked for them, what 3-4 months? I know people who have worked there for years and they have never ever said anything about drug deals in parking lot, as for shoplifting every store has shoplifting which doesn't have anything to do with what goes on in parking lot.

I just about meet all Jackson people at Bass Pro, a couple at Berry's seafood.
Berry's seafood is the best place, so you can eat later

I would agree Sir. It used to be a silent deal between me and the wife. I could drive to Jackson to buy a firearm if she could eat seafood at Berry's.

The one at Robinson Road didn’t make it long at all due to shrinkage and parking lot crime. You definitely have to know what exit you are at in Jacktown.

It was about 3.5 years.. i was outside a good bit and knew the loss prevention guy fairly well so i saw and heard a good bit more than people who stayed inside the store.
I was born and raised in Jackson. I know my way around quite well. I believe a good place in the Jackson area would be most any shopping center, in Rankin or Madison County. I would not do a deal in Jackson. If it goes sideways in Hinds County you do not have LE or court system support that you have in Madison or Rankin Counties.

You started work there in 2007(search option is a great thing) so you haven't worked that since 2010 mid 2011 so actually you got no clue what crime is like at Home Depot in Clinton now, almost 10 years later.

What are the odds that it has gotten any better?

All I know it's not anywhere as bad as he is making it out to be.
I have met a few great folks in the Brandon Home Depot parking lot, never one problem, and would do it again. I don't think I would have a problem in Clinton, but never done a meet there.

As someone said earlier, set it up in Rankin or Madison County.

Wherever it is, be sure to know a little about the person you're meeting, take someone with you if possible, even though I hardly ever do. Always be aware of your surroundings.
