YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS..... I mean, that's too bad.
Happy days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fixin to have to rename her Long Island!!!!
Quit teasing us.
Hasn't happened since the 1600's and it's way over due....uh, well, uh, I mean oh hell, let it fall in the ocean!
I hope it don't happen, I want all those fools to stay over there!!
Iffin it opens a wide enough gap they won't be able to swim back!!!
It is kind of the same situation as Jackson. While I hate it is so close, I am glad it is there to house them thugs. Every state needs a penal colony I guess. Just wish they would surround it with a wall!
If it happens, I feel certain the Dem's out there will issue a ban on earthquakes above 4.6 on the Richter scale.
learn to swim........
Plenty of them know how to swim. Ever heard of the Rio Grande?
Hell the Rio Grande is knee deep in most places!!!
I'm surprised it's the San Andreas, the Juan De Fuca is the one that's overdue.
In my estimation both have been overdue for 30 years or so!!!
New Madrid is overdue. Vastly more destructive potential than San Andreas.
I've seen maps speculating the Gulf Coast somewhere in Tennessee or Kentucky.
My wife is afraid to go to California because of earthquakes. I told her she is in more danger here than there.
Never let the facts get in the way of a clever comment.
I don't believe the New Madrid is quit that overdue. The last big quakes were in the winter of 1811 and 1812. That makes the fault due 300 years later in 2111 0r 2112. It is however overdue for a moderately large quake of 6 to 7 magnitude. Here is an overview of the fault system. Missouri Geological Survey
Worked out there many years ago at the Budweiser plant in Van Nuys. My first experience with a tremor came while I was on top of a pipe rack about 12 feet off the ground. The pipes started wiggling like stiff snakes. I'm like WTH, then I remembered where I was. I didn't go for the ladder, I jumped and was out the door in about 5 seconds. Today, I'd be DOA on the floor. The locals laughed their asses off!!!
Made my money and was gone in about two months.
Never had a hankering to go back.
BTW, they were all a bunch of fruits even back then.
