I am fixin to buy a savage BV. I would like to be able to shoot it (a lot!!) in my yard without feeling like i am disturbing my naighbor that works nights. I would like to know if some one could help me get some info on legally obtaining a suppresser, what is the cost of both buyin one and gettin it legal, how many shots can u put through them before they become inafective, what does it cost to have barrel threaded, and does it affect the accuracy and how much? any info would be very appreciated. I hope to start making it over to some of yalls get togathers. I would love to shoot in the F class. thanks again. :gun: Oh and does any of u have this exact set up or just this gun? How do u like it?

As far as the laws in your state I have know idea what you have to do so you can legally own a suppressor but through research and being around others that have suppressors I can say this.
Get a .22 suppressor that can be taken apart for cleaning. Clean it after 500 - 1000 rounds if that amount is shot within a few days. If your not going to be able to use it for a while and have only fired a hundered or so rounds through it go ahead and clean it. As far as accuracy the suppressor doesn't affect the accuracy per say but does affect POI by changing the ergonomics of the gun. But once you dial in your weapon with the suppressor it's the same every time just like changing the stock, trigger or adding a muzzle brake changes changes the way a rifle reacts to being shot.
That's just what I have read or been told by suppressor owners while shooting with them hopefully I didn't mess anything up by forgeting important information but I'm sure if I did someone will correct me.

According to savages site, the bv isnt threaded. From what im seeing the fv-sr and trr-sr are the only ones that come threaded. Something to think about, it costs about $100 to have a smith thread and recrown the barrel. It might save you money to buy one already threaded.

If i were you, id get the one prethreaded.
I have the mark II-FV with a yankee hill mite. It shoots great and is silly quiet. It cost me 50 or 60 bucks in get mine threaded.
Most your target ammo is subsonic anyway so it shoots good and is quiet.
If you shoot the cheap bulk ammo your gonna need to clean it when you get thru shooting everytime if you put alot thru it, plus its supersonic so there is really no use for the suppressor. Still gonna get the "crack" from the bullet.
If you shoot the good target bullets that have the grease feeling coating on the bullet, you can shoot it alot and just wipe the baffles off with a solvent soaked rag. The grease coating helps the cleaning a ton.
