Whats your thoughts on these?

A friend of mine wanted a set of Cylinder heads that i had and he asked if he could trade his Model 110 7mag for them. He said it kicked way too hard for him and he couldnt hit anything with it.

I figured why not add it to my collection so we traded and its in pretty good shape, little finish worn off but thats character.

He only found a box of empty brass so i might try to find a cheap box of ammo and just see how she shoots. Its light weight i know that much.

I've got one in 300wsm (synthetic model 111), one in 243(synthetic model 116), one in 308 (wood model BTH11)..... the two with synthetic stocks are tack drivers - easily < 1" at 100 yds... having trouble with the 308 still, either a scope issue or cheek weld issue on my part..... :2c:

The 110 is one of my favorite. I rebarreled one of mine to the 35 Whelen. Turned out to be a great shooter. Got the BBL from Midway. Already had a BBl wrench and action wrench. It was an easy job. Just make certain you get the headspace correct. The 110 can really be tweaked (fun stuff) for your personal desires. Things like free floating, pillow bedding, trigger replacement or easy adjustment of the old trigger. All of my (6) 110's will shoot moa. The only other bolt gun I own is the Marlin xs7c in 308. It is definitely a MOA rifle, out of the box. You can't go wrong with the 110.

heavy duty recoil lug
Rifle Basix trigger in it and have it set to right at 2#.
EGW 20moa rail and the stock should be here today or tomorrow.
Next is just saving up for a scope and start slinging lead!!
Well after i get the barrel threaded for the can...

My lefty savage 7mag loves fed premium...got some real nice groups, especially for me, I originally tried Rem corelokts and they were crap out of that gun...couldn't get a group to save my life
I reload for everything i have.
I have some 190gr SMK, 208gr Amax, and 210 Berger VLDs that im goin to work up loads for.
I shot it in 7mag before i took the barrel off and it shot ok, that little barrel got hot quick tho.

My experience with all Savage guns that I own including one 110, is that they are built like little tanks. They are tough guns yet simple. Good luck with your Savage.
