was out working today and saw an armadillo with half a tail and a skint up shell. guess it got hit by a car or something... dunno.

didnt have my phone on me so no pic but i felt sorry for the lil dude...

Ok here is my recent dillo storey. Yesterday i was out shooting off my sand bags at 200 yards with my .223 just playing around, and when all of a sudden right beside the target out walked a big old dillo i couldnt believe it ha long storey short he walked into the line of fire but he didnt walk out.

Did he jump straight up into the air when you shot him?

They always seem to do that on me. Jump straight up about 3-4 feet and fall back down dead.

Yeah he did i shot him with a 55 grain hornady v-max .223 but yeah i hit him and he flipped and flopped like crazy finally he died but man it was crazy how high he could get

I used to shoot 'em but now only if they are rooting up my yard. They do dig up fire ant mounds and eat the ants and larvae. I once witnessed one digging into a yellow jacket nest too.

We kill all them things we possibly can on the farm.. My favorite load for them is a 69gr PPU Match with a LC case filled to the brim with H322 out of my stevens 223 @3150fps. They dont do any jumping with that load. Usually just split open instantly.

All I know is do not ever strattle one with your vehicle it makes an awful racket all the way to the rear of the undercarriage. I have only done that once.

Man armadillo hunting is one hell of a time! My dad has about 200 acres fenced off for a fox pin and the armadillos will short out the electric fence when they get tangled up it the wires which lets the cycotes and fox dig out. So every so often we walk the roads and fence lines w/ 22's and take 'em out. They're pretty hard to hit when they're on the run. But when i go by myself I'll use a 1911 to make it a little more interesting!
