Why is it that the point of impact shifted by 2" between 3 power and 9 power on my VX2 Leopould?
this is on 9X:

this is on 3X:

That is a 3" circle target, shooting from bench rest with rifle in shooting vise, aiming at the center of circle both times.

P.S......This was the first batch of handloads for my .375 Winchester T/C Encore :2tup: !!!!!

Sounds like a cheek weld problem. The VX-II is a respectable (not cheap crap) scope and would not normally creap this much from 3 to 9x. If you are 100% sure that your cheek was in the exact same spot and that the vice was tight, then I would send the scope back. It has a lifetime warranty. :2c:

Ditto on the cheek weld. I learned alot on this from shooting with SGMJody. The difference between good groups and great groups, from a capable rifle and shooter, is consistent cheek weld. I have trouble with this whereas SGMJody does not!

More than likely that is the problem (the jerk behind the trigger), I have NO doubt that the scope was doing it's job. I've had this same scope on a 7mm mag, then a 7/08 prohunter barrel, and then a Handi 243 this past season. As I said, chances are that I wasn't anchoring my cheek in the same spot.
Thanks for the info,

How many yards are you shooting? If it is 50, the telescope's parallax is set for 200 yards and if you don't get your eye in the center of the exit pupil of the telescope, the image can shift a great deal.

Don't mind a hijack, IF it stays on subject. I always say that the dumbest question is the one NOT asked  .

The distance I was set up at was 100 yards, per rangefinder. As for the second part, I do my best to anchor my cheek the same so that I'm looking thru the scope from the same point of veiw :| . I always wondered about that second part when I was shooting a TC Contender pistol with a scope.
