I don't know which to do. I just finished cleaning up my latest acquisition. The good news; :2tup: It's a Winchester 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine, .32 Winchester Special, manufactured in 1901. The bad news; :yell: Some idiot polished it and nickel plated it. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have a gun. Is there a SPCG (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Guns) that I can report this to? It looked really bad when I got it. I spent several hours at the buffing wheel trying to polish it and make it feel better. The rear sight was junk. I'm getting on e-bay to find a decent one. I've also got to make a new front sight blade. There's way to much reflection off the nickel one. I guess the only consolation is that the bore if good so I'll be shooting as soon as I get some sights plus the fact that it only cost me $150. I wonder if I can find a nickel plated tang sight?

I guess I'll have to keep it. It's like finding an ugly dog at the pound. It grows on you after a while. I found the correct rear sight on e-bay. It's $100. That's going to hurt but I can't disgrace it more by putting the wrong sight on it.
