So......looks like I won't be going to the gun show after all. I have annual pistol range qualification at Sherman Hill in Forest, MS. My supervisor seems to think Mr. Morgan is racist, but I think he's just a cool guy. I'm looking forward to it! I thought about going to the Catfish Festival too, but that's not gonna happen (haven't been since my senior year of high school).

I have been meaning to try shooting over at Sherman Hill, but I don't know the schedule (is it regular or always changing?) and it's a little too far from Meridian to drive to just check it out. Any words of advice anyone?

Clyde is a fine fella...Have met and spoke with him several times...once while waiting to get some Rx shooting glasses....

Have never been to Sherman Hill...just too far for me to go...especially since I have my own shooting place.

Sherman Hill Shooting Center is a complex of several outdoor ranges dedicated to providing the public with a safe, fun place to shoot. Youth under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We are a drug, alcohol, and smoke-free facility.

Sherman Hill Shooting Center is open from 10am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, on the third weekend of each month.

There are two Handgun Ranges, two Highpower Rifle Ranges and one .22 Rimfire Range. Targets may include paper, clays, metal gongs, pepper poppers, and twisting, swinging, running or reactive pop-up targets. Ranges are available for zeroing.

Basic and Advanced Combat Courses-of-Fire are constructed on one Handgun and one Rifle Range and are conducted by Range Officers. Keep your own score, or ignore the score and just shoot for fun.

All rifles must be in a case. All handguns must either be in a case or holstered. Rental cases are available.

Cost is $15 per person per day.

Got back a few hours ago. Shooting is fun, but getting paid to shoot is awesome!!! I shoot at least once a week at home but that doesn't compare to shooting with people you know!

Does anybody know Eric from Sherman Hill? We had a larger group than normal and he assisted Mr. Morgan.

I've been out to Mr. Morgan's range and competed there. He is a great guy and very serious about safety. He is an excellent firearms instructor and I have also had a pistol class with him. I would recommend anyone that can to go and shoot at Sherman Hill. I'm interested in the Combat Rifle Course myself but I think I have something coming up on that day.

@BeRichH - Eric is a great guy and very knowledgeable as well. I have his e-mail if you need to get in touch with him.
