Anyone have experience shipping decent-sized (more than 10 crates) shipments of ammunition?

No expert but have shipped a good bit! Okra you gonna need to check the shippers. How much weight you talking. Like a case of shotgun shells is no problem. UPS, FedX. Ship with ORMD sticker on every side. And you have to declare it. Depending on how much you may be better off with common carrier. I always use SAIA LTL. Again how much weight and where it's going???

Why I say SAIA! And I receive several pallets a month.

FedEx Freight--Worst almost
  • YRC Freight--Never heard of
  • XPO--Worst ever for sure, Cheap and a reason for it.
  • Old Dominion--OK but deliveries take forever
  • UPS Freight--Somewhat OK
  • Estes--Worst number 3
  • ABF Freight--They are ok just take a while
  • R+L Carriers--Kinda OK
  • SAIA--Best Ever with out doubt
  • Southeastern Freight Lines--Kinda but not quite the worst
  • Averitt--Never used so don't know
