Boy was that fun!!
i got 3 xrings if that counts for anything??

Learned that 20 shots in 20 minutes results in my .270 pencil barrel being bout the same temperature as the surface of the sun, i thought it was goin to jump out of the stock and go find some water.

Met a bunch of good guys and of course its a small world.

Final score was 319 and i came in 4th in the open division........ out of 4 shooters :lol4:

Time to finish my new rifle and get back at it!! Hopefully ill be able to make the next match in June!! Yall better watch out

Considering what you were shooting thats not bad. In open class I usually got between 10-13xs per 20 shot string in the morning. Later in the day when the wind picks up thats a different story. THat 300 win mag will be tuff on the old shoulder but it should shoot really nice.

I was only using one sandbag :lol4: so it was more of my shooting abilities not my rifle..
the 300 is goin to be pretty heavy so it will be all good. the 270 is tuff on the ole shoulder as it is, that thing dont weight nothing..
I compared the action and barrel of the 300 to the whole 270 and its pretty close to the same.

Hope to see you next month, enjoyed meeting you and I'm glad you had fun. It only takes one match to get you hooked. It is truly a small world. My son told me he talked to you Sunday.
Yep, ill be back out there Next month for sure. Gonna try to drag as many people with me as i can.

Alot of people have never shot 600yds, once you do 100 or 200 just seems like a stones throw.

I enjoyed it!
Ive never shot the thing that many times that fast, all my good groups were shooting 1 shot and waiting about 5 minutes to go check the target and then come back. But it seemed to be walking a clockwise pattern when it gets hot.

I was wonder who was shooting off of that sandbag?! I seemed a bit wobbly. If you ever want to borrow any of my stuff you are welcome to it. As long as I'm not shooting off of it.

Next month should be more fun and more hotter.

I use my millett 4-16x50 and it stays on 10 power for some reason haha.

One reason i dont use a bipod or a from rest, if i put any pressure on the foreend it shoots horrible. Found out if i keep the weight on the magazine floorplate it shoots awesome. Well till the barrel heats up.
Thanks for the offer tho. I like testing my skills :D

i just put a EGW rail and Burris XTR rings on the 270. I had problems with the scope walking in the cheap $10 weaver rings.

Got my stock in today for my savage 300wm, they left out the bolts so once i get that sorted out i gotta set the head space andsave up for my scope.

Glad you came nonnieselman, you definately get the iron man award. Thank you for spreading the word, we are starting to get a good crowd this year and we have room for more growth. I have ordered some wind flags that I am going to put at different distances also I am looking into some awnings to cover the firing
line with to get some shade. I beleive by the time the team match was over my shooting mat was about as hot as your barrel.
