Was loading some 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. Was using Sierra Game kings in 140 gr, #1730. Had them set at 2.460 seat depth to the ogive using an older box that called them spitzers. Opened a box with the new label. Same #1730 but say SBT. Bullet looks identical to the eye. Seating depth changed to .008 shorter at 2.452 to the ogive. Any one see this drastic of a change in new vs old stock Sierra Game kings or others. Within each box, seat depth was only varying .001. So either a lot variance (hope not) or something has changed over time with these bullets.

Can't say about Sierra but the larger caliber Berger bullets can vary greatly from box to box & lot to lot. If you have a finicky rifle they can have you chasing your tail for sure. Don't ask me how I know cause sounds like your in the same spot, down to measuring every bullet. Working in manufacturing myself, it's might near impossible to make a product identical over & over. If it falls between minimum & maximum it goes in the box. Good luck. LB
