Finally got to shoot my new SIG 522 this afternoon..................

I wanted to test these types of ammo after getting the SIG 522 zeroed, but the wind was a little too much and I need a higher X scope. Oh yeah, SIG 522s come in a "fancy" blue Sig Sauer case...... :)

I setup at 25yds and zeroed with Rem. Golden Bullet bulk pack ammo. IMHO... Rem. G.B. bulk is only good for plinking. Out of about 250rds shooting 3 types of ammo, ONLY the Rem. G.B. caused 2 jams. Even standard velocity Win. "WB" ran 100%.

The two main things I need to get use to are the long trigger pull (been shooting ARs and target rifles mostly) and the upper & lower have a little play in them. I am going to try to fix the play because that bugs me............

The ammo I was going to test today. One suprized me. Which one.......... read on.

Groups 1-4 were zeroing using Rem. G.B. bulk.

Groups 5 & 6 was Win. "WB" standard velocity. I was a little disappointed with the results because this ammo shoots well in target rifles.

Group 7 was Rem. G.B. again.

Groups 8 & 9 was the Win. Xpert-HV bulk pack. This ammo surprized me.............. :) Need to buy more......

After shooting groups............. it was time to PLAY...........

My 22RF plate rack set at 50yds. Off the rest was easy.... Standing offhand was tougher.........

Bottom line............ Even with just one range trip (and limited time), I am impressed with the SIG 522. Not perfect... but damn fun to shoot.

I see you put the stock extention on your SIG 522 also. Me being tall, the extention really helps.

Does your upper & lower have a little play?

The mag is a Black Dog mag. Have you tried CMMG mags...?

Get your butt to the range and let that puppy fly................... :)

................ How are the prices on extra mags?
Black Dog mags run around $20. CMMG mags around $18.

The CMMG and Target Master AR-15 conversions use the same mag (I think). I know Target Master uses Black Dog mags because I have one. From picture it appears CMMG and Black Dog mags are the same dimensions. I am shopping for some CMMG mags.

Yes, the wiggle in the stock is expected due to being able to slide.

IMO.... the upper and lower should have NO play. That is why there are the rubber wedgies for ARs.

Something to work on...................

Thanks for the report.
I haven't experienced any jams with my m&p 15-22 and G.B. Ammo but I have had some fail to fires. Have yall experienced that in your sigs? I'm hoping mine was just dirty. Now that its clean I haven't tried them but will soon as I have a scope on it now I need to sight in.
